Hey guys,
I am having a weird problem. Whenever I try to access "My Computer", it takes about 1 minute for the drives etc. to show up. I can minimise it meanwhile but cannot close it. What that does is it crashes EXPLORER.EXE causing it to restart itself. Now when I wait and do not close, it loads up and then everthing is fine. It's very annoying and I would be grateful for any suggestions. JAN

I considered that as well....no CD/DVD loaded and YES I do have a virtual drive (Slysoft CloneCD). Perhaps that could be the problem. What do you think? I never had this problem before though.

Do you get teh same behavior when trying it from Safe Mode? If so, then it is a problem with the core OS and you might try a repair installation or a hardwware fault--- a drive going bad, perhaps.
If the problem does not manifest in Safe mode, then the likely culprit is a software driver conflict. |

I think I may have fixed my problem by removing the two network drives I had in My Computer. It now seems to work flawlessly as before. Thanx for the suggestions.
