I want to build basically a tiny system.
Looking to use: athlon Xp 1700 Combo DVD CD Case http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16811145004 This is where i need help, the case is the size i want but the psu that comes in it only has 7amps on the 12 volt, I dont thinks that enough to run this system after i incorperate a vid card. I would like to use that Psu if possible just for the cost and not having to change it out. Also i need help finding a fanless vid card that will fit in the case and what about where the vid ports s-vid and vga or whatever is on it will make its exit for the case. Same concept with a tv tuner card. There dosent appear to be a place for ports from thses cards. This computer will be used solely for video hooked to a tv and video will be saved on the hard drive like a tivo, and it will be running windows media center. Any ideas on the video card, and motherboard as mentioned above would be very helpful???? And how much ram should i use??? Harddrive suggestions? Thanks for help in advance Last edited by Flint67; 12-09-2005 at 01:16 AM. |

if this system is only going to be used for music, videos and other such thing, i.e. no gaming you can get away with a pretty weak graphics card, something like a Geforce2, there are also plenty of these older model cards without heatsinks.
what particular graphics cards have you been looking at?

Yes. I was going to comment that if you ever wanted to upgrade your GPU it would be REALLY hard. You would have to settle with a miniscule 64 mb if not less than that. My friend had a case like this and he couldn't fit his new X800 in there so he went and bought a new top of the line Dell XPS... Go figure
