Default Laptop GC won't accept color profiles.

I bought a Sony Vaio last month. Today, I was trying to profile the monitor using Color Vision Spyder.

At the end of the procedure (for LCDs), when I tried to save the created color profile the following msg was displayed: "Error 6: Unable to associate the profile (CMSSupport.cpp 238)"

I thought it was because the Spyder is an old, second hand one (although I am running the latest version of OptiCAL, the operating software) but, when I tried to associate any other WIN XP system pre-existing color profiles, those also displayed an error msg ("Not a valid color profile") and failed to load.

The graphic chipset is an Intel 915GM/GMS, 910 GML for which I already downloaded and installed the latest driver.

I checked the ColorVision and Intel sites for support but to no avail.

I am trying to avoid contacting the VAIO support line as those people (...as in most support lines) seem to know less then us about how to set things straight.

Any ideas?

Thanks.
