I was wondering, I have a dvd that is encoded wiht only digital 5.1, thus, if i put it my dvd player connected to my stero, it will play in digital surround sound. However, Ive realized now, when I play this dvd on my computer, I dont seem to get any sound from the base computer speakers, on the laptop.
Of course, the built in speakers on the laptop arent digital 5.1, but is there a way I could still listen to my dvd? The video plays, just no sound. Is there maybe some software that could tell the dvd to still play 5.1 sound through my regular speakers? Thanks

well...it should still play. Try setting the audio in the DVD menu to stereo instead of DTS or DD
