Default CDROM not seen?

Has anyone noticed that after installing a new CDROM it will not burn or backup? I have seen this on 3 computers so far. I am wondering if this is a windows update problem? The CDROM will play but when I try to backup files I have no record option? This affects Nero and BHA Gold.

All are Sony products.

Thanks

I guess not then huh? This is not a master/slave problem. All systems and parts are identical and replacement CDROM RW were standard too. I think something in windows update is stopping recording processes.

Ah well I suppose you will find out sometime yourself.
Thanks.

You left 1 hour and 10 minutes ofr us to answer. You think everybody is on here all the time?

FYI, theres a difference between CDROM and CD Writer. If its a cdrom you have, then you wont be able to burn anything.
