hey,
I have finally decided to let my old Nokia lay to rest and get a new cell phone. But I have no idea which to get, they all look so awesome. Cost is not a problem but I dont want one of those smart phones with 100 buttons and all the fancy features that I will prolly never use. I just need a phone with an excellent camera, a decent video cam, and the rest I dont really care for. Radio or Mp3 player would be totally awesome too. After a little research, I have narrow it down to 5 phones. And I would appericate if you guys can give me some input on these, since I am kind of clueless on the details. 1) Sliver RAZR V3 http://www.allcellularaccessories.co...se_product=821 2) Nokia 6256i http://www.nokiausa.com/phones/6256i 3) Motorola ROKR- I heard some bad reviews about this phone, so i dont know. http://www.apple.com/itunes/mobile/ 4) Sony Ericsson Z520a http://www.engadget.com/entry/1234000223046500/ 5) Motorola V710 http://www.phonescoop.com/phones/phone.php?p=475 ANd thanks for all the help... |

Get a Nokia N90.
Camera: 2 MegaPixel, 1600x1200, Carl Zeiss optics, autofocus, video and flash. This, IMO, is the best camera phone and video phone in one.

Motorola V710
Do not get the one with I-tunes, unless you enjoy having massive migrane headaches. The V710 has a slot for a memory card and functions like a NORMAL mp3 player. You put mp3s on the card, stick it in the phone. Then again if you already a member of the i-cult, then go for it.

Thanks for all the suggestions.
I am not really sure how the Mp3 player system works on these phones. Can someone explain that to me? I mean is there a special headset that I should buy? Thanks again, and keep the suggestions coming. ![]() |

There shouldbe no mixing of these technologies, the quality jsut sucks.
As menitioned, the best camera phone is still terrible, and if you want a decent mp3 player you should get a DEDICATED mp3 player. a cheap phone that makes calls and text's and gets online. a 4mp digi-cam that takes excellent pics a 10GB+ mp3 player purchased seperately, those will beat any phone. not only in battery life, but in quality and convenience. the phone isn't a million bucks, you can find a $50 phone that does standard things. the digi cam takes pictures a hell of alot better thn any phoen will, and the mp3 player will hold more songs and have a better sound quality and button layout than any phone. just my opinion.

i happen to have an mp3 player in my phone and it works just fine. I'd much rather carry around a single phone that can play music (that takes miniSD cards up to 10 gig) then carry around a phone and an MP3 player. I have another dedicated mp3 player that I use for running. It actually holds less then the phone does.
Sound quality is never a concern with ANY mp3 player as you are listening through headphones, not high end speakers. The sound quality on these phones through headphones is similar to any mp3 player on the market. As for controls, I have play/pause and seek buttons on the front of the phone as well as volume control on the side. I can't scroll through folders, but it works just fine to LISTEN TO MUSIC, not house my entire media collection. As for the camera phone feature. It's quite handy. If I'm out to take real pictures, then I take my 35mm SLR. If I'm out running errands, or around town, or at the bars, and I see something I want a picture of, I can pull out my phone and it works just fine. You sacriface quality for convience. If you were expecting to be taking high quality pics, you'd have a seperate camera with you. Again, I don't like lugging all these things aroung with me all the time just for when I happen to need them. The MP3 player works with a normal headset that plugs into a headphone jack. You can use the same headset you use for talking hands free. I'm not sure if you can use a bluetooth headset or not.

I suppose it depends on your habits. I always carry around my digi-cam, so it's not an inconvenience to stick it in my pocket (it's pretty small.) An SLR is quite different than what I have though lol.
As for mp3 on your phone, I have 2 main gripes. I like hard-drive mp3 players, swapping out SD cards, messing with software is just inconvenient. And I like a long battery life, with the mp3 player i'm thinking of getting it allows for 35hrs of playtime. If that was on a phone, you'd be killing the battery life, and if it died you would not be able to listen to music, take pictures, or even make calls. but thats just me.
