Default Sound Blaster Aud. 2 and Mic Problems

Been scratching my head over a problem for the past couple weeks and have almost given up.

I've been trying to use a program called teamspeak to talk with my guild on World of Warcraft but for some reason my mic just won't do anything. First thinking I had a bad mic, I went and picked up a semi decent Creative headphone/mic and still no go. Then I concluded it was a sound card and/or driver problem. I reinstalled the sound card and even moved it to a different PCI slot but still I could hear what others were say but they couldn't hear me. Then I went in to my control panel -> Sound -> Sound and Audio Devices -> Audio Tab -> then hit the volume button on the sound recording. I get an error saying I must have sndvol32.exe installed. I did a little research and found a couple others had a similar problem but found nothing to help. Then I stumbled across the Windows site that showed how to install this...

Well I did so and thought I fixed it, I was wrong. I had gone into the so called windows mixer through the sound and audio link in the control panel and removed the mutes off of that and the sound blaster controls for the microphone. Still only heard others but now when I insert the microphone, I just get sound out of my speakers when I talk through it. I checked to make sure no other sound devices except for the soundblaster has been installed and it is the only one in the device manager except for a couple other essential drivers. I've use teamspeak before on other computers and never have had this much trouble, normally a simple removal of the mute and I'm ready to start talking.

Another thing that is weird is that I have no Windows Mixer in my Programs -> Acc -> Multimedia tab, though I have never known Soundblaster Aud. 2 drivers to override that to that extent. Normally the program is still in the multimedia section of the program menus, just the soundblaster control panel overrides the windows mixer in the toolbar.

The sound area of a computer is my weak point sadly and any help with be greatly appreciated.
