Default Winlogon.exe taking 99% CPU Usage?

3 of the computers on the network are freezing, and according to Task Mgr, Winlogon.exe is taking up 99% of the usage. I can't end the process, so what can I do?

ive read that spyware can cause this so perform a virus scan and a spyware scan as a start. ive also heard that zonealarm can cause an issue like this too; if you are running zonealarm i would consider switching to another if thats possible.
