OK im having a huge problem with a newly built comp ..well heres link u can read up...
http://computerforum.com/showthread.php?t=29740 ok anyways....I cant get to install the OS most likely because cd isnt working ..but it did when I put the cd in my current comp but idk...(btw its coppied) i know i know stupid illegall mistake i take full responsibility but anyways I was wondering if I need a new..well oEm version of windows xp home? heres link nice price im willing to buy it tonight... http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicati...335878&CatId=0 im wondering if this will help my problem for sure and if this is the right one... thanks........

Did you see if you're burned disk was recognized in someone else's drive? If so there's nothing wrong with it. I had a similar issue once, my OS was messed up so I wanted to reinstall it, but my computer wouldn't detect my disk drives till I booted into windows and used the find new hardware thing. Long story short, I reset my bios with a jumper on the motherboard and it worked fine. Most likely all it did was reset some option I had selected and didn't know how to change back, but it worked.
