Hi,
I was working on my computer (just powerpoint), and then the computer froze. So I rebooted it, but only this time, it all of a sudden asks for the boot disk and for me to press enter. Right before this message pops up, the floppy drive makes a sound. So I go into the bios and I disable the floppy and I set the priority to the hard drive like it was before with the cd-rom second. When I rebooted my computer again, it asked for the same message, except this time the floppy didn't make a sound. So when I tried rebooting it again, I put in the XP cd, and it was running it from there, but then while it was loading, I took the cd out and the computer was running fine. When I tried to reboot is again afterwards, I had to put the xp cd in and take it out or the same boot disk message will pop up. Does anyone know what is wrong or how I can solve? Does this mean I have to keep putting in my xp cd and taking it out everytime I turn on my computer?
It really scared me becuase I was studying and this happened 2 hours before my exam.

try repairing your xp install, insert the boot disk and start it up, it should go to the install xp thing. There you will get the option to install xp or repair an installation of xp, choose repair and see if it helps

after choosing repair, it'll take you to the recovery console. once you get to a prompt that will let you type, try typing:
fixboot[enter]
fixmbr[enter]
and if those don't work, do it again and try
chkdsk /r[enter]
