If it's for office work, I doubt the video card will matter all too much. Doesn't matter if it's Nvidia or ATi, it is your preference. If no games are to be played, just get a cheap Radeon 9200 or Nvidia Ti.

That should already be automatically assumed. No higher than a 9600xt or fx5500. Unless under $100

Yea, and for a Superofficeman you should get a Pentium D 820 or 830. 1 gig of RAM would be sufficent for a SUPER office PC, and a very low end graphics card. At newegg I found a REALLY cheap 320 gb drive for like 130 bucks, but I can't link it to you now beacuse this computer only supports one IE window .

You would probably be going for less than 50$ beacuse the ATi X700 and X1300 are less than 100$ and they would be SUPER overkill for this PC.

Why those specific brands? You can get better products from different brands. AGP or PCI-e?
SPECIFY WHAT YOU WANT FROM EACH OF THESE BRANDS. I will not include a case.

ASUS P5GD1-VM $93
Intel P4 530J $190
Corsair VALUE DDR2 512mb $40
Sapphire X700 $90
Western Digital 250GB $115
Artic Freezer $35
Logitech LX700 Cordless $80 (without rebate)
Sony DDU1615 Drive $22
~$630

ops, i forgot to mention his budget is 1500-2000 CAD. So we can go up to socket 995, along with PCIe, and 1 gig of ram.

There is no socket 995. The highest socket right now is 940 and that is an AMD, not Intel like you requested...

That is true, intel does only have socket 775. My mistake i misread the series number 955.
