well i have a Creative Sound Blaster Audigy2 ZS sound card and when i plug in my headset(plantronics Audio 90) or my other headset(Altec Lansing idk the model) i get static and can barely hear anything...like i would be playing music but it would be really faint, (even having all the volume settings on high) and the loud static right over it... is this becuase of my sound card?
btw im sopose to plug it in were it says digital right? i tried the other ones and i get no static but also no sound... and i got it OEM, so i didnt get any manual, only got a cd w/ it.... ![]() i would try to plug it into the ports i have on my case but idk where to plug in the thingymabobs(it looks like a little pin connector but just for one pin) so the ports would work.(case is a NZXT Trinity)

Just to clearify, the static is directly from your soundcard because you couldn't get the front audio pannel connected? I get some static with my setup in the front audio pannel... Nothing major, but more than from the rear. I think it's because the wires run across all the others unsheilded.
If this isn't your case, I suspect some sort of ground problem in the back or something. Can you tell if you have any static in your standard speaker playback?

i think you need to plug it into the analogue cos digital would make a static sound, plug it into analogue and then go into the device control software you got for your card and switch it to analogue

Oh, I see... Well plug the headphones into the same place as the speakers. If the connections are colored, it should be green. If not, it should be labled. Hehe, I'd forgotten about digital output but yeah, that is about all you'll get if you plug analoge speakers into it ;P

i have my headset in the green(line out 1) and the mic in the pink. but neither works... i thought it was just the speaker plug that was wrong but it seems the mic plug doesnt work either b.c i tried to record my voice in the "Sound Recorder" , even tho i get no sound, i kno the green line should i least spike if it registered my voice but it just stayed a flat green line... im thinking about trying the Karajan Audio Module that came with my motherboard, but if i put it in will it interfere with the soundcard? b/c there would be 2 sound thingymabobs on the mothgerboard... or just take out the soundcard and unistall it and all its programs b4 putting in the audio module? should i contact newegg and tell them i got a defective soundcard and they need to send me a new one? but how do i prove its defective when i do a diagnostic test(in the software for the soundcard) it says everthing is fine...

Yea i had the same problem. i had to go into the control panel, find the icon about your sound card, then i went into the mixer, there should be a box that say "only digital out" or something like that. Select no, tehn plug your head phone into the green spot(or just try them all to see waht ones work)

and i cant find andthing on "digital out" on either... oh just thought of this, i could just get a Plantronics DSP-500 headset where it has a built in soundcard thingy(the DSP) and give my Audio 90 to my bro since he is using crappy heapphones and wants a mic.. but then id have no speakers unless of course the soundcard works with the speakers im getting(i hope it does )btw does anyone kno how long i have till i cant return/exchange my soundcard to newegg... isnt it like 30 days... i didnt get the extended warranty or w/e but i kno theres always the free warranty thing. cuz im worried i wont be able to test the speakers im getting on the soundcard in time b/c if it doesnt work i want to be able to return it and i dont want to be stuck with a defective soundcard and waste $70...
