Question "Not enough resources": HP Omnibook xt1000s and PCMCIA USB2.0 card

Hi,

My laptop has 3 USB1.1 connectors and I wanted to upgrade it by buying a PCMCIA to USB2.0 card. I am running Win 2000. The card is detected and installed, but... it does not work !

Having a look in the hardware settings, I could see that there is a material conflict: "Device not working, not enough resources: you have to disable some other devices first" !! I tried to disable the USB1.1 devices, as well as the modem and LPT1 port, but it did not help further...

Also under Linux Ubuntu 5.10 (dual boot), the USB2.0 ports were not recognised.

Has anybody already faced this problem ? Any idea ?...

Thanks in advance !!

You should contact the manufacturer of that PC card. They can probably trouble shoot over the phone. They should have a bunch more info that we can tell you over the forum. Especially when we dont know even know what your card is.

Cool No-name card...

Hi,

That's unfortunately not possible, since the card I bought is a "no-name" card... I can find no brand on it ! I can just suppose there is a NEC chipset inside, since this information appears in the configuration settings corresponding to the PCMCIA-USB2.0 adapter.

Thanks anyway for your answer.

Regards,
