Exclamation Photoshop crash...

My mom is having some trouble with Photoshop CS. PROBLEM: Photoshop stops responding during loading screen.

I have tried the following w/out success:

-spyware/adaware scan
-virus scan
-full system scan
-reinstallation of Photoshop

Does anybody know what to do? Any ideas? Help would really be appreciated, my mom is trying to officially start her digital photography business and this is preventing her continuation.

I guess me talking to you about her business today got you to talk to her about it

Anyway, does she have Illistrator? have her try that and see if that loads up without freezing. Adobe also has an Update program, i would run that and see if there are any updates that may help her problem.

Just out of curiosity, what is the CPU temp? and does it crash in any other CPU intensive app?

I cannot get into the updater unless Photoshop loads.

The CPU temp is fine, and it doesn't crash any other times.

does your mother have a firewall on? i had a similar problem regarding CS2. it uses this app that needs to access the internet, or a certain file and i had been blocking it with my firewall. that was why it did not load up on me. however, after i shut down my firewall, it worked flawlessly.

however, what is your mothers pc specs. im pretty sure it can handle a program like adobe.

and is it on a pc or mac?

wow ur mother sure has a nice pc. better than mines.

well, hopefully the photoshop copy is not pirated or anything, and the installation discs are not corrupted or scratched really badly.

have you tried deleting the preference file?
its usually in C:\Documents and Settings\Your User Name\Application
Data\AdobePhotoshop9.0 or Adobe Photoshop CS2 Settings\Adobe Photoshop
CS2\ Prefs.psp

probably ont exactly like that, but you should know where to look.
alternatively, hold alt+control+shift when you load photoshop
