Hi, i recently upgraded my BIOS to a BETA version and its causing me some problems...so ive decided to go back to 1007 but i cant do it through Asus Update Utility. Is there a way that i can downgrade my bios through some type of Asus program?
Thanks

NEVER download any beta programs or especially bios. Beta means its in testing. You can download the flash utility and then download the bios file that you had on your computer originally or download the newest nonbeta bios file.

you cant actually damage hardware by using beta bioses.
in order to do this you need to create a bootable floppy disk. this is done by formatting a floppy disk and selecting copy system files. then, you unzip your flash program and older bios and copy those onto the disk, then boot using the disk and you should be able to flash your bios no problems. i found that its better to flash in dos mode when i upgraded my bios, i never had problems with the windows utility when i was using it but downgrading the bios can be a problem with windows based utilities *edit* there's another version of the program that will only work in dos. you need to download that. the one you showed in your screenshot is for windows only

i dont see why that shouldn't work. make sure you have the correct usb settings enabled in your bios to allow you to boot to dos with it, but you still need to get the dos boot files onto the drive, i dont know how to go about doing this

According to Asus site, the K8 series can't be updated using dos based flash utility. Have you tried replacing the the bios with the one from the motherboard cd? If its a motherboard that supports crash free bios? look at the crash free bios and the asus ez flash options on this page http://www.asus.com/products4.aspx?l...35&modelmenu=1
