Windows oc utility

I want to OC my family PC, but if i do it from BIOS then i get error messages and need to re-install windows, so im going to do it via windows. I tried clockgen but they dont have it for the motherboard that i have (ASROCK P4V88). If you can post a link where i can download it, that would be best. Thanks

You think you wont get error messaging from OCing in windows?? LOL

(you can try Speedfan, it has OCing features)

I know i will, but i can get to a certain point before i get the Blue screen. And SpeedFan doesnt have my motherboard.

Well when you OC from BIOS you have the added advantage of a non-OS dependent hardware check to tell you if stuff works or not (in addition to "getting to a certain point before getting a BSOD")

If Speedfan, CLockgen and your own mobo doesnt have OCing support.... that should say somethng....

i would OC in BIOS, but if i change it 1Mhz, it says that files are corrupt. But if i OC then install windows, it works fine.

1. Are u OCing SATA drives?
2. If BIOS says the files are corrupt and windows says they're not corrupt ... who are you gonna trust?

hehe yep, non-locked sata lines are a pain like that

Hmmm, seems SATA isn't as good as I thought it was... I like the really thin and small cable you use, and the fact it's a faster speed, but all these problems I'm having with it just don't make up for it...

How do I get around it?

It was quite strange though...my HTT was at 201Mhz by defualt... I kept pushing it up 5Mhz each time, with no problem at all... Until I got to 225Mhz and it just crashed when it tried to get the log on screen (but the temperature was only 30*C)...

It has no SATA drives, only a 40GB IDE. And it posts fine, but then you get the message about a corrupt file in windows.

And Rambo, some motherboards have SATA locks, that way you dont have to worry about that. Or you can buy a SATA PCI card.
