sound crackles and stops

Hi i have been refered here from another site and i was wondering if you could help me with my problem when ive got a few applications up and i play music my sound crackles and sometimes stops so then i go to the speaker icon then click mute on then mute off then it works but the music comes back 3 times faster anyone know how to fix this would be greatly thanked

Do you have any other speakers you could try? It would be good to see if your speakers are broken or if your computer is having issues.

And if other speakers work I would just get new speakers unless yours are terrible expensive.

I'm not quite sure what you mean by "the music comes back three times faster."
