Question Old notebook RAM

i have a Toshiba Tecra 8100 and I wanted to put another 256 MB of RAM in it, since it's an older laptop, the RAM isn't as heavily produced and expensive. Kingston, for instance, wants 155 dollars (I have no intention of paying that). Any ideas on getting it cheaper, don't care if it is used and can just imagine people getting new laptops and getting rid of that stuff.

either ebay or sometimes check out the for sale section on this site. i know a few people were selling pc100/133 for like 5$ a stick. you can go ahead and post and see if anyone is willing to sell you some for cheap. its around christmas so i am sure somebody has a nice generous heart

If it's PC 133 then ZZF has it for 39$ (Kingston). I don't find that overly expensive at all.

it's PC 100 and that makes it much more expensive for some reason.

Would any of these match even close on crucial.com?

No, it doesn't have that make, and even if it was compatible, the stuff on crucial was way more than I wanted to pay

PC133 will work with PC100. It will just downclock to meet the PC100.

i thought that too, but I bought this from Newegg:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820172003
and it wasn't compatible (I had to send it back)
According to CNET this is the type of RAM I have:

Max supported RAM 512 MB
RAM Technology SDRAM-100 MHz
RAM installed size 256 MB

It doesn't give a Pin number there but I know it is 144 pins and I guess if it is 144 pins it is "So-Dimm"
Any Ideas what's going on?
Also if you have a suggestion of a compatible stick, here is the 256MB, PC 133, 144 pin So-Dimm section of Newegg:
