Default Graphicas card mod, will it work?

I have an old AGP card that instead of having 2 notches in the slot it only has 1 so it wont fit in a newer AGP socket. I looked at where the 2nd notch should be and there is a lonely connection that isn't actually grouped together with the other ones. If I take a dremel to it and cut a 2nd notch in it, ya think it'll work in a newer AGP slot? It is an old useless AGP card so i will trash it if it screws up but any theories?

cut out the notch in the mobo insted of the card, because if you cut into the card you cut into the green board, but if you cut into the plastic on the motherboard, not cutting the mobo, but just the notch out of it, it should work...but make sure the pins line up, but it would be alot easier to just get a new card

well if he cuts out a notch on the videocard, he'd cut the internal wires on the board of the videocard, but on the mobo, he just had to cut plastic

Not always, sometimes there arnet any wires where the notch is, and you can cut without anything happening. But if you dont really need the video card or motherboard, you can play around a little and see if you can get it to work.

there is no active circuit where the missing notch is, the is one of the little pins but the circuit that connects to it, leads to a dead spot about 1 cm from the pin. Just a straight circuit, cutting it shouldnt hurt anything. I guess I'll just get a different one no use damaging a good card. Just something I thought up, I'll just get a new one.

Do you think integrated graphics would be better than an old tnt PCI gfx card?

its probably an old agp card (1x and 2x), the newer cards (4x and 8x) run at a lower voltage and therefore the different types of card aren't designed to run on the other types of agp standard. i hope that makes sense, there's a reason the notch isn't present in the card, leave it as it is
