Exclamation Wireless Desktop Adapter

I bought a D-Link router and Laptop Adapter kit, I was wondering if I buy a Desktop Adapter does it have to be the same brand as the router as long as it is the same standard (802.11b/g)?

no it doesn't have to be the same brand
and the only one who recommends that it should be is the company that makes the router so you keep buying from them
