XP always has a folder called "System Volume Information" that noone can access. If this isn't the name of the folder then run a filesystem check:
Start > Run > chkdsk c: /f /r
It will pop up a window saying that this is the system disk and that the check needs to be run at the next boot, Answer with a "y" and then restart. This should correct the problem.
