There are a number of things. In terms of software, you can scan your computer for adware and viruses, since they make your computer run slower. Use Disk Clean-up and Disk Defragmentor, and download some 3rd party programs such as Tune-Up Utilities 2006 to cleanup the registry.

As for hardware, you can upgrade to 1GB of RAM. Your CPU is already pretty nice.

How do you know his system specs?

If you want a really fast pc, then go buy a amd FX57 4gb of dual challel ram, and do a clean wipe on your harddrive

Okay, but really, two ways to speed up your PC. Hardware is the fiirst, upgrade your cpu, ram, motherboard, psu, video card, they can also help your pc run faster and better., then the second way would be whats on your ahrddrive, the best way would be to reformat your hardrive and to re-install windows, or do what geoff said.

  • By adding more Memory (RAM)
  • Removing Programs that you don't really use
  • Prevent programs to run on Startup
  • Disk Defragmenter Utility
  • Disk Cleanup Utility
  • Run Spyware Removal at least once a week

Why has no one mentioned overclocking, the fiorst few things that came to my head was RAM upgrade and Processor Upgrade/Overclock.....
