Dear All,
I have 1.7 GHz Intel Orignal Processor, 80 GB HDD, 256 MB RAM, 845 GVSR Main board, and Nvidia Geforce TNT Model 2 video Card (AGP card). I have a budget of 150 USD. Now i want to buy a new card so i will be able to play the latest games. Some of the following games which i currently cant play are: Lord of the Rings, Call of Duty, Call of Duty 2, Need For Speed Underground 2. So i need help and suggestions from you to tell me which ATI or Nvidia card will fit my need to play these games or upcoming latest games of 2006 and 2007. My budget is currently 150 USD, however i can go upto 200 USD. So i am not worried about its cost. Just need great card which will enable me to play great latest games. Also what you think about my Processor, Mainboard, and RAM. Do you think i need to upgrade them? Wait for ur kind suggestions. |

well if u want to play these games ( Lord of the Rings, Call of Duty*, Call of Duty 2, Need For Speed Underground 2.) on low setting then geforce fx5200 or ati radeon9200SE will do the job and they are very cheap (about 30$)
but if u want to play them on medium to high setting then geforce 6600 or 6600GT will do the job, and u can get them for less than 150 USD, and also they will be able to play upcoming latest games of 2006 and 2007 but don't expect to run them on high setting i forget to tell u that call of duty 2 and lord of the rings battle for midearth will not run fine on 256MB ram, if u add another 256MB or 512MB it will give u big performance boost and these games will load faster. also if u upgrade ur cpu u will get a performance boost for call od duty 2. so i suggest that u get a new build rather than upgrading and wasting ur money on this computer. *Call of Duty 1 will run on high setting if u get fx5200. I would find out exactly what type of AGP slot you have before buying a video card that might not work. If you cant handle a 4X/8X agp card then your only real option is to buy a PCI card like a 5200/5500/5700LE.

and for the ram, i sure that 256MB is enough for games like need for speed underground 2 and call of duty 1 because i had 256MB in my old pc with windows xp sp2 (which cost alot of resources) and it runs them fine. these games doesn't cost any resource and for call of duty2 512MB ram is fine but 1GB will be better |
