-Asus A8R-MVP ($140)
That board kicks so much ass!!

soon i can get the crossfire edition video card to make crossfire, right?
Well as long as u have a master card you'll be ok

I am thinking of getting FX-55 or x2 4800 for $999
Between them id get the X2 and not the 4800, either the 4200 or 4400 but thats me

At the moment Asus only has 1 model of mobo that supports crossfire. Right now crossfire has bugs so SLI is better as of now, eventually crossfire will catch up..in about 1/2 year, but SLI is still be better with direct x 9 cards. We will see what happens once directx10 is released but as of now SLI is much better because of less glitches, higher fps, better benchmarks, and the cards avaliable for Nvidia right now are on top. CPU wise for gaming (serious gaming) go with fx-55, but only after fx-60 is released because the price will drop. Aside from that you can get a Audigy 2 ZS, wont much much of a difference in your games but you will be able to have access to 5.1 and 7.1 surround sound.
Where are u getting this info?

Quote:
Omg why? A nice x2 3800+ or a cheaper single core San Diego will get the job done and you won't even tell the difference without benchmarking it.
Cuz there are games that will break a 3800 (ok not break it, but you can feel it getting pushed)
