I can get sounds from the cd player and from my Xm satellite online listening program (XaMp) and from the dvd player and such but I cant get the windows chimes, clicks and such to play....I also cant hear sounds from web pages such as this one.... http://www.reuters.hu/card_dom/index_content.html
Whats up with my audio??? |

In the audio mixer, (if you double click the speaker in the icon tray, the right most part of the taskbar) check to make sure that all the sliders are up. I think it would be wave slider.

Thanks for the tip but I have already gone thru all the settings in the control panel and changed all sorts of associations with media player and such....I just cant figure out why I can hear everything but the windows sounds and web site audio... I have been listening to my XM radio all night online with no problems at all....I have unistalled the sound card and reinstalled re booted checked everything I could think of. Its a Sony Vaio laptop with a Soundmax digital sound card.... |
