Just a thought... You can get 1gig CF cards for less than $50. You can get a CF to IDE converter for just a few bucks. Ever considered using such a card for virtual memory. Some CF cards can be quite fast, I'm sure faster than a 1G HD! It would be silent, and cheaper than adding more RAM.
Just an interesting, and probably pointless idea, that hit me as I was tweaking my machine a bit... Maybe tommarow I'll look for some actual benchmarks and see how fast the cards really are.
