Hi people,
I have a question....... Wel, I am thinking to make a backup of my complete drives (2). But, I think it's better to make a backup and safe it on an extern harddisk. Now my question: can you make of an intern disk an extern disk? So that I buy an intern disk and a harddisk case. And is a hd-case complete with cables and stuff like that? Thanks, Gr. RWW |

Yes, you can get an external case, they are all something like this. They should come with all the cables that you require, you just set your hard drive jumper to master and plug it in. They're not bad for backup, and great for portability, but they are much more delicate and prone to data corruption than internal hard drives. In general, they shouldn't be left on 24/7, but only switched on when you need to access or copy files, as most external cases lack cooling fans.

For a bit more, you can even make it a network aware enclosure
