Exclamation cordless phone + wireless network = loss of connection

My computer upstairs and ios connected to a wireless network that is two stories down. Whenever I am on a cordless, the signal must interact with the connection or something, but whatever it is it causes me to lose connection everytime I'm on the phone. It's not that big of a deal, because I just reconnect after I'm done on the phone, but it's kinda getting annoying. Is there a way for me to change my frequency or something of my phone or wireless connection that would stop me from losing my connection every time I'm on the phone?

i think you'll find they both use the same unlicensed frequency (i think its 2.5 GHz or thereabouts), this is why you are having problems with your wireless network when you are using the phone. i dont know if this is a common function on cordless phones but you could have a look to see if there's a frequency switch on it but i doubt it will.

that really isn't a good idea, simply because it would be too difficult to tune the handset to the base and also if you end up tuned into a licenced frequency you will be breaking the law

Most likely its because your wireless is operating at 2.4Ghz, and so is your phone. You should probably invest in either corded phones or a 5.8ghz phone.

Im not sure, but maybe it would help if you changed the channel of the router's signal from 6 to something else. Would that work, does anyone know?

i think that would help your situation because each channel (as far as i know) is a different frequency

Changing the channel on the router or your phone may help, since it does change the frequencies, although the change is very small so you may still experience static.
