Default Question about AGP 4x

Since the 9800XT is affordable to me on eBay, I was thinking of getting one. How well would it work with my AGP 4x slot in terms of performance? Also is their a large difference between AGP 4x and 8x? I don't want to buy a new mobo if I'm not going to see much of a performance difference.

The difference between AGP 4X and 8X is very small.

i think you'll do fine with that. its only the latest agp8x cards that are pushing the limits of the interface

Wow, and here I always thought it'd be a huge difference, thanks.

Nah not at all, thats mostly marketing hype ... hell I ran a 6800GT on AGP4x for a few weeks, transitioned to 8x didnt notice much in terms of realworld changes.
