Smile sound card problems (Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS Gamer Edition)

i just bought and installed the Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS Gamer Edition to use with my Logitech Z-5300 5.1 surround sound speakers. After playing a game for a matter of minutes, or even playing a media file the pc completely freezes up and a high pitched noise comes out of the speakers. i have tried it with my headphones with the speakers not hooked up, same issue. Can anybody tell me what the issue might be?

thanks in advance for any help i may recieve.

Default

download the most recent drivers from creative and install them, if the problem persists, likely a bad sound card
