hi,
I know quite alot about computers but this problem i can't fix. I got a game, lotr battle for middle earth and i tried to play it with my mate on a network. I don't have a router, his comp is the main comp and mine the second. So first when we started the game and went to network menu i saw his comp but he didn't saw mine. So i changed both ip numbers, for example his 192.168.1.100 and mine .101, of course we didn't had connection to the internet anymore but now his comp saw mine in the menu. Sow hen he starts a game and i want to enter it it says "connection aborted, timed out". Now i don't have any clue anymore what else i can do, of course firewalls are off. So, a smart guy who solves this problem. thnx |

can each computers ping eachother?
to ping: Start>Run type in cmd on each PC go here and type "ping (other computers IP address)" for example you might type ping 192.168.1.100 then press enter, if you get a timeout error then one of the computers has a connection problem that is probably fixable. Try pinging each PC and post if they were both able to ping or not and i'll try to get some more info based off that.
