oh, well thats not really what you asked. you asked if you can get it black without installing window blinds or something.

You need a program to change the taskbar to anything that isnt standard with windows.

well, you will need windowblinds, your main source for skins and themes is gonna be wincustomize, search under the windowblinds section

*EDIT* - Link to "black search results under the windowblinds section http://www.wincustomize.com/Skins.as...earchtxt=black

No if it is just a black windows xp theme he is looking for then there is a much better solution.

Theme in the following link contains 5 different colors. However it is not exactly Windows XP theme but rather an even nicer Windows Royale theme in 5 colors.

http://www.deviantart.com/view/8908279/

You can find the uxtheme patcher here (you need this to use the theme).

If you are interested in different versions such as compact start menu you can look at this page for link to more themes... My favorite however is the "Five Color Mod"

Also just about anything you download from that site is wrapped with spy ware etc. I hate even going to that site anymore. It where great when it first got started. Also programs like this I believe slow down your computer however from what I understand is that Windowblinds can actually speed things up and Alienware was or is shipping their computers with a limited version of Windowblinds installed.

KK... Download this http://www.llbbl.com/data/nw_uxpatcher.zip (it is the UX theme multi patcher.

Then Download this http://www.deviantart.com/view/8908279/ (it is the Five Mod Royale Theme)

After you Download the first you want to double click it and it will patch your Theme.dll or something like that. Then after you download the second you simply put the theme in "C:\WINDOWS\Resources\Themes"

You Then can right click on your desktop and goto properties... Then click on the "Appearance tab" And you can choose the theme from there as well as what color you would like to use.

Edit:

Just wanted to warn you that you patch your windows theme.dll at your own risk :-). You should not have any prob. and I don't want to scare you but ya never know. It is possible that this theme be used with Theme XP (I think) I however rather not install any programs that may slow down my computer.

themexp wrapped their downloads with something. which isn't good.

wincustomize.com is a good source.

however, just go to crystalxp.net
download the longhorn brico pack (there are like 3, it is one of those if that is not the one). its not exactly windows xp. its more of like windows vista sorta. more GUI than xp. and its better looking.

the good thing is that it doesn't need any additional softwares and it just replaces everything giving u a faster smoother time roaming around ur pc.
