Default Can the eVGA Geforce 6600GT card run all current games?

I plan on buying a cheap gaming card and I plan on getting the Geforce 6600GT card. Can it run all the current games? How much longer will this card last before it's outdated? Thanks.

well depends on what you want to play. If you want to play all the newest games on the highest settings..this card won't last you long. It can run all the current games but some in medium settings and such.

Yes, it will play all current games, but as said in the previous post not all of them on highest settings. I would have to say it will play about anything for about another half a year and thats a very low estimate.

Uh-oh... I was thinking of getting that card
Do you have to play current games on low settings?
I would only play games like Battlefield 2 and Americas army.

Well, if you looked a bit further down for a review, a guy says he can run battlefield 2 on these settings:

Quote:
Half-Life 2 - 1280x1024, high quality, 6x AA, 16x AF
Battlefield 2 - 1280x1024, high quality, 4x AA, 8x AF
F.E.A.R. - 1280x1024, medium quality, 4x AA
Call of Duty 2 - 1024x768, 8x AF, 2x AA, soft ...
shadows enabled
Doom 3 - 1280x1024, high quality, 8x AA

my friend had it and his went up to almost 90C.

The 6600GT can play all the newest games, but not on the highest settings.

its not a matter of wether it can run the games, because it will run them... its a matter of will it run them on high qualities? and the answer is yes it will run them, not on higher qualities though... except i wouldnt get lower then the 6800gs. thats my personal feelings about it. i bought a 7800gt though so i dont need to worry!

The 6000 series I beleive is a fairly hot running card. I know my 7800 runs cooler than my 6800 did.
