Default Help sisters internet

My sister had to reformat her computer, and she lost all her drivers for her wireless internet. We've tried all the disks that came with her computer but none of them have drivers. Windows doesnt even detect the adaptor, so we cant use windows for the networking. But it detects her wired conection card. I'm not sure if upgrading to SP2 would help but every time I sugest doing that she freaks out (guess she got it from my mom ) What do you guys sugest I do? I have no experience in stuff like this. The computer is the dell inspiron 600M. Right now my mom and my sister are fudging through dell tech support. I'm sure she can get it fixed at teh student computer shop at UCLA but if I fix it then I look really smart and thats a plus

when i installed WinXP Prof on my PC it wouldn't let me connect to my wireless network. after plugging my PC into the hub using a cable then updating to SP2 it could connect to the wireless.

I had to reformat awhile ago and the same thing happened again.

well first of all, sp2 is a good idea for the security reasons, but as far as drivers, if you see who manufactured the wireless card, maybe you can get the drivers from their site

That's a good suggestion, I did the same today for a friend.
