press F8 (?) repetedly until the boot options menu comes up. Use you up and down keys to select "Start With Last Known Good Configs. If it doesn't work, try the option for booting in safe mode that should be in the same menu.

I you bought XP and upgraded, use your xp CD and repair. If you got your comp from HP, your doomed, so grab a Knoppix CD and get your files off. Then take it to the shop or (in knoppix) find QTParted, reformat you hdd, and reinstall windows.

Ok out of the suddent my computer could go to windows when i select with the 'Last know good configure'. So now i in windows. I restart to see if it really works but now it come to a diffrent error. It says a currupt/missing file. \WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\CONFIG\SYSTEM

It`s the esyest way to up windows. Start new installation of windows booting from XP cd. It find an old version of windows and ask you to let im try to repair old version. So you save your settings and installed programs and drivers.
