Question New mobo and cpu and monitor will not turn on

I just got a new motherboard (asus A8V) and new processor (amd athlon 64 3700) and after installing the new stuff and pluging all of the old components in the monitor does not respong, but the computer seems to start. When I push the power button, the computer acts like it is turning on normally and the LEDs turn on, and the fans start spining and the hard drives make noise, but the monitor flashes its light on and off like its in standbye mode or when it is turned on while the computer is off. There are no beeps when it starts, and it doesnt give any audio messages.

I tried starting with no hard drives, all different combinations of my ram (One 512mb corsair xms chip and one 512mb chip,, i think its kingston or something), and i restarted CMOS. I have a leadtek geforce 6800GT graphics card and it seems to be working. The fans spin and when i dont have its power pluged in, it beeps like usual. I really hope the problem isnt the graphics card because its warranty is expired.

All of the jumpers seem to be set up properly, the power and reset buttons and leds work so it seems alright.

I have an Antec 400W power supply and that seems to be working because its making all the LEDS light up and fans spin.

I cant think of any thing wrong besides a faulty motherboard or CPU because I would think it would poster otherwise, especially since everything worked fine before installing the new parts.

My old motherboard was an Asus a7v8x and the cpu was an amd athlon 2400+.

Any suggestions?????

Thanks!!!

Glad to know you got it sorted... That kind of mistake is commonly done, so you're not the only one
