if you're after silence the zalman is the way to go, the thermaltake has better cooling performance however

Hey, the T/T is only 16dB, its really quiet.
EDIT: Your more likely to have contact with thing on your mobo with the zalman, its more a flat HSF, but the T/T is raised up from the mobo, so it doesnt make contact with the mobo and compontents attached. |

didn't read the decidel ratings on them, zalman have always gone for the quiet route for cooling, so i was going by what i already knew. however, there are known compatability issues on some motherboards with the zalman and the design is rather old now. the thermaltake uses several heatpipes and the reviews are good for it

Cool, thanks guys. I think I've decided on getting the Thermaltake. Do you think it could lower my idle 61 celcius to at least 35 celcius? (I dont understand what is wrong with my cooling, it just idles at 45, then jumps up to 61 after a few hours and stays there.)
