Default Dell Laptop Problem

Hi, Basically a file on my laptop (Dell inspiron 6000) was corrupt so the laptop wouldn't even start up, it said something like "NTOSKRNL.EXE is missing or corrupt..", when i got the laptop the OS was already installed so i don't the have the OS discs or anything. i found a copy of Windows XP pro and installed it (the laptop was originally XP home), once it was installed i started the laptop to find that most of the hardware doesn't work anymore. what i should do now? (yeah i know i probably shouldn't have reinstalled the whole OS for one file!)

Well make sure when you installed the XP Pro, that you formated it and not installed it right on top of it. As for getting new drivers, you can download them at Dell's support page. You'll have to get on someone else's computer though to access the net. Download, burn to CD (or thumbdrive), and install on your laptop.
