i had a look on google and from what i can tell you're running a laptop, correct?
if this is so then you dont really have a "make and model" motherboard

Not a dumb question, but probably can only be answered by HP themselves. They may not explain to you the total specs, but can give you recommendations on what you want to upgrade. If you want to see what type of memory it'll take, you can check out Crucial's Memory Advisor tool: http://www.crucial.com/store/listpar...ries&submit=Go

Default support

sadly enough,
i called hp support and asked if my laptop would handle 533 ram and he skirted around the issue and did not know the answer. i was surprised.
i should have looked into more when i bought it, oh well i am passing this off to the wife in the summer i hope and getting another.

Yeah, I do the same thing. I'd pass it off to the girlfriend or a little sister. Afterall, they'd probably use it for less taxing tasks anyways. I'm sure it'll have enough power for their intensive rounds of solitaire and mindsweeper.
