Default Ack, Sound card problems.

I have a CMI-8738 5.1 sound card. I also have a realtek AC97 2 onboard sound card. My speakers work fine on both cards. But my microphone will not work on either. It did work on the ac97 before I got the cmi, but now it wont. I have tried everything. Reinstalling drivers. Making sure the mic is not on mute. Making sure device is active in my device manager. The microphone does work on other pcs. Anyone got any other ideas? Thanks.

I beleive it's multimedia under control pannel, you can select the record device. Be sure which ever card you want is selected. Or, why not disable the onboard card, assuming you don't use both at the same time...

Xycron, I have checked and in the instructions for the CMI it says something like that. Although It isnt in the sound options. Ill look in the bios as soon as I can.

The_Other_One, Yep I have switched between the CMI and AC97 in the record device. I have also tried it with the CMI enabled, both enabled, and only the AC97 enabled. Still no luck.
