Default How would this setup work/Rate

Ok, with my computer i am getting a pretty good set of 2.1 speakers (45w) , and i have a sereo thats not in use i would also like to hook up. Its an Aiwa 300W total power system.

I'm pretty sure that my brother could help me hook it up, because he's done the same thing with his aiwa stereo, and he also hooked up an amp and sub.

But how would this work with the onboard 7.1 sound my Mobo has?

BTW speakers: http://www.newegg.com/product/produc...82E16836135002

to be completely honest with you, i think it would be a waste of money man. no matter how nice your aiwa speakers are, they WILL overpower the speakers you posted from newegg. if you turn those speakers up to keep up with your aiwa speakers, the life of the codegen speakers will drastically drop, if not be damaged right then and there. also, i couldn't imagine those codegen speakers remotely sounding good..

i'm not trying to "burst your bubble" or anything man, but i'm just trying to keep you from wasting your money.

if you'd like some suggestions on better options, let me know what you intend on doing with your setup, and include a budget, as well. if $35 is all you have to spend, there's not going to be much you'll be able to do, though....

another thing.. from your post you throw around the amount of watts each thing has like it's a big deal. i guarantee you the (crappy) 6x8 coaxials i have in my car sound better than the "45 watt" codegen speakers, and my car speakers push 50 watts at the MAX...
