Question Invalid System Disk - Replace the disk, and then press any key error

Hello all,

Everytime i boot up this dell optiplex, it gives an error saying, "Invalid System Disk - Replace the disk, and then press any key". Now i know this error usually means that computer is tryin to boot from a floppy or a cdrom. I checked and there are no floppies or CDRom's in the drives. Also the boot sequence is setup to boot straight from the hard-drive.

Any ideas why this error keeps poppin up. Could it be a boot sector virus? Also the owner of the PC said that the electricity flickered a few times the other night and thats when the computer shut down and restarted. Could that have fried the internals of the machine? Any advice would be appreciated.

Thank You

Rik

So the hard drive is already the 1st boot drive?

Do you have a Windows XP disk you could repair the installation with if need be?
