just an update - I decided to order that remote control unit that Blue recommended... only $5 from ebay, i'm paying more for P&P lol.
i liked the idea of being able to control my system from the other side of the room cos i'm always listening to music. the only reason i went for that was because i couldn't find anything similar anywhere else
