i'm guessing this is a no but does a cable exist that will convert firewire to usb. my camcorder has a firewire connection and i dont have a firewire port on my laptop. so do i need to buy a PCMCIA card to use firewire or can i just get a special cable?

go to start> then control panel > Then click on Add Hadware it is next to add and remove program. Then install your usb from there. That's what I did and it works for me.
