Default I have files that won't let me delete them. How can I fix this?

Hi everyone

I have a few files that on my computer that says "You don't have permission to modify the contents of this file, it may be in use by another program".

These files came from a Memory card (connected via USB). I was transferring files to and from the computer etc...

Now these files are sitting on my desktop and it won't let me delete them. (they've been there for months). Now I tried plugging in that same memory card I used to transfer files but THAT memory card no longers works with this computer. Any other card works but just not THAT one.

Is there anyone to fix this problem. I don't want those files there!

Default I hate it when that happens..

First thing i would try is hit alt tab and delete and find those files in there try this and then post back if it solves your problem. Just match up the files and delete em from the system process'. You should also make sure that you have administration permission to access and change files..if you don't know how to change this first you start by clicking on start...then click on the link control panel..then if it isn't in classic mode which is in the top left of the screen click switch to classic mode...then click on user accounts..then find your account... if it says computer administrator then ur set...IF NOT...on the bottom if underneath your name it doesn't say computer administrator, click on it....then the second last icon will say change my account type....click on it...if it says limited then change to administrator and select save changes...post back if ur still havin probs...

Also try contol-alt-delete and see if they are running under programs or processes, check the registry for a key and see if you can delete, I had a free firewall once that wouldn't let me delete the program till I removed it from the registry.
