Question Boot problem

Ok, so i was on MSN Messenger last night using my webcam. I lost my internet connection which i get through a wireless usb adapter. To get it back i normally have to restart. Too hastily I pressed the restart button on the case, but it failed to boot back up properly. I can get in in safe mode but i can't see what's wrong. I've removed all peripherals. I've tried a system restore. The boot fails just as it gets to the black screen with the Windwos XP logo on it. Any ideas how i can get back up and running?

It just stops. When i get in in safe mode there is a yellow exclamation mark next to PCI Bridge Device. Could that be the problem?

under safe mode try reinstalling the drivers for that pci bridge, other than that i'm not sure what to tell you short of a repair install of windows or a complete format.

Ok well i can get in now, but the boot takes about a minute and hangs on the windows xp screen. Otherwise all seems fine. I don't know what the other pci bridge device is. I took out a usb pci card.

Sounds like you need to reinstall the main chipset drivers
