Question monitor slow to start

I have a Dell 15 inch flat panel monitor that is about 4 yrs. old. It takes about 2 minutes before the screen will come on after starting the computer or waking it up. Any ideas why this is happening? The video card is checking out good.

Default Hmm

Is it gradual...meaning does it start of dimm and go up in brightness over time or does it simply not "kick in" 2 minutes from the start. In the first case, it could be the backlight breaking down.
