Im currently picking the parts for my new build. but i kinda got talked into parts and now i think im a tad over budget. do you guys really think i should spend the extra 100 bucks for Choice 1 over Choice 2, keep in mind i dont do any terribly extensive multitasking or any crazy large programs.
Choice 1- http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16819103562 Choice 2- http://www.newegg.com/product/Produc...82E16819103539 thanks Nick |

Yes it is. Dual core is the way of the future.

if you have the money for the dual core, I'd say get it, I don't follow AMD all that much but you could maybe look into a slower X2. I've got a 3.2 pentium HT and a 2.8 Pentium D and the D I think is significantly better, and there is a moderate speed difference between the two

Well the X2 3800+ is the slowest dual core AMD on the market. It's a better choice in my view than the A64 3700+. I would still get an X2 over the Pentium Ds because it is generally true, that they perform better (when comparing logically)
