Default xp and x64

ok i only have one hd, i have all my music and apps, games etc on windows xp pro

when i go to install x64 can i do it as an UPGRADE like u can from home to pro, that way i can still use all my music apps games etc?

or do i have to do a complete new install...

2. if i have to do new install id choose to do new partition.. if i did i kno their would be xp and x64 on here etc etc... when i start up and if i chose x64 would i still be able to use my music and etc?

ok well my pc wont even recognize it on startup for some reason, it does my xp pro disc but not this disc... my motherboard and cpu are x64 ready so i duno

mostly everything has to be 64 compatible. so basically a whole new build.

and as far as your programs, most of them will probably not work since they are all 32 bit based still.

Most 32bit programs will work, they just wont take advangage of the 64bit, and there may be some issues with bugs and such but that's doesn't have to do with it ebign 32bit. My only program is alot of inompatible drivers.

As long as you need no formating options you should be fine, if you install or upgrade it should work, as long as the install, you dont choose to format anything and you choose a same existing partition.

Do you have your boot squaenqe to boot from your CD first in your bios? that way it'll try and boot from the disk insteal of your harddrive...

If it was then it would have been a sinpmle, yes its legit, not its a downloaded iso, and why would you have to PM it to me?

Plus If your trying to do it on a virtual drive then theres your problem...
