Thumbs down Super Squeeky

my little bro seems to be having lots of probs with playing games on his pc, he tried to play battlefield1942 game of the year edition but the sound is very high pitched and quite comical (not to him) any suggestions what he should do? he can play all his music on wmp with out any problems. would this just be a case of reinstalling the sound card driver or reinstalling the game or something entirly different?

help as always much obliged

It sounds like a conflict between the games audio processor and the sound card driver, resintall the sound card drivers but check that they are the latest versions, also check for any patches for the game.
